Happy Halloween! We go to my aunt's place and all of the kiddos go trick or treating in a group together : )

I had a huge party on saturday, that's how I celebrated it, saw a lot of people in the tower I work dressed up, unfortunately Halloween it's not THAAAT big in my country, but a lot of companies celebrate it.

I just wanna go get a Starbucks and a pack of candies/chocolate and eat them all

I am trying to redeem the stupid Chipotle Halloween promo (6$ entree using promo code BOORITO) but their app and website are both being straight doodoo so I may have to figure out alternative dinner plans. But other than that, my plan for Halloween is to be a complete shut-in and watch/play horror movies/games.

Ended up not getting any trick-or-treaters, went out for a walk before it got dark and the only people out were other walkers/runners, not a costume in sight.

Aww that stinks. In my country we celebrate Sint Maarten instead of Halloween, but I've not had any kids at my door for 2 years now, and before that there were less and less every year... This will make me sound so old but I think kids these days rather want to keep playing video games instead of going outside, and just buy the candy.

For me it's just the neighborhood isn't ideal for trick-or-treating. All of the houses are on a lot of land, so there are long driveways and they're all far apart. I'm also not even sure how many kids even live in the neighborhood? I have no idea about general trends, I feel like more parents are nervous about it than they used to be, and I'm sure COVID changed things, but people I know who live in more densely packed neighborhoods get visitors!

Oh that's good to hear! Just too bad when you like to see which costumes kids come up with. I love Sint Maarten in that regard to hear what lanterns they've made and which songs they come up with (it's tradition kids hold a self-made lantern (usually made out of kite paper I believe it's called in English? or sometimes from a hollowed out beet) and sing a song before they get candy)

But yeah where I live it's just not that popular anymore, and Halloween has replaced it in the bigger cities.
