What's the amazing thing about The Hunger Games?

    Personally I hated the movie.

Didn't saw it on the cinema, I saw it at netflix the past week, or so...

It got me bored. It disappointed me so much.

I remember everyone was like "Ohhh the hunger games<3 The best movie ever" or things like that.

But after I saw it, I really REALLY expected way more. It's so stupid.

The girl only killed ONE FUCKING GUY!! Two with the last one being killed by those wolfy monsters. She could have killed more, but no!! All she did was hide while we see her.

The only thing I actually liked, was Jennifer Lawrence. I'd do her everyday.

I don't even think I'll watch the second part.

And I wholly concur with you on Jennifer Lawrence.

The film was absolutely terrible in my opinion -- I much preferred the book. If I hadn't read the book first, I wouldn't have understood most of what was happening in the film because they missed bits out/didn't clarify stuff xD

There was a lot more suspense in the book, plus because it was written in first person, you could read the thoughts of the main character...so we didn't get any of that in the film.

I think it would definitely be hard for someone to pick up on all the nuances in the plot if they hadn't read the book first. I loved it though, personally. I think they did a really great job of bringing the world to life and they casted it really well. I agree that it was better with Katniss' thoughts, but it is a movie afterall. You can't have her speaking out loud all the time, especially since her personality isn't like that in the first place.

@Trinket: I just made the connection--if your username from Effie's name?

Oh okay LOL. Well Trinket is a cute name by itself and I figured you just made it because of that, but when you posted in here it made me curious!

    Effie is super annoying indeed.

I loved the Hunger Games. Mostly because I fell in love with Rue.

That being said, I think it was good that Katniss only killed one person. It was her way of proving that the Capitol didn't control her. I wish they had more backstory in the movie, but maybe it will be in the second.
Will definitely watch the next ones.

    @DarkAngel
If you wanna see some real action, watch Battle Royale. Its a japanese movie that probably inspired the entire Hunger Games books.
Essentially the same plot but way way more blood and gore

Agreed. And Peeta didn't even kill anybody if I recall correctly?
