I've stopped watching Bleach ever since the Arrancar/Vaizard arc but I'm so excited for the new movie. Do you think I have to watch to understand what happens in this new movie?

I think you should Definitely keep watching the anime and keep up with the last arc aired, TRUST ME, It's REALLY REALLY GOOD. You won't be disappointed.
And this last arc that is about to come out is gonna be NUTS! I'm telling ya'

IDK if you have to watch everything to watch the movie but it definitely will give you more background and knowledge beforehand

I found the Vaizard/Arrancar arc suuuuuper draggy thus I stopped. I guess I'll have to continue (or start from the beginning since it's been years. I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning storyline where Ichigo saved Rukia)

If you're watching again or catch up, make sure you search ''Bleach Filler List'' so you can skip filler episodes that are not canon, it helps me with every anime so I won't waste my time with those extra episodes
