Neo_Truths called out on Neopets Reddit

It's telling that so many of the responses boil down to "get wrekd cheaters", as if sacrificing the personal information and private discussions of every player on the site is a sane trade off for inconveniencing a handful of the least experienced cheaters. Every cheater with half a brain in their heads knows how to walk around this guy, and a few folks are messing with everyone just to see what they can get away with, and the response to that is to let some rando run play fast and loose with the whole site? Get wrekd indeed.

User data safety? Who needs that. We can potentially catch a CK member or two!!!!!!!!111!1!!!!!

Shocker, Neopets reddit deleted the post but the comments are still up.



This guy has access to every transaction and logs on Neopets and it baffles me that a seeming majority on the Neopets subreddit is okay with this.

I made the post because it's ridiculous that people can't see the double standard he's created. I can't believe so many people on the neopets subreddit are that delulu... actually wait, yes I can.

I also can't believe he was a member here and was banned for predatory behaviour! The Neo_truths hole goes deep it seems lol.

Someone on reddit sent me a DM with another thread here from last year explaining what was going on with Neo_truths and I was like it all makes sense!

He literally reports on nothing of value on reddit. I saw him respond to someone who asked him why he doesn't report his exploit and he said its because neopets does not have a bug bounty.

If the bug bounty was REALLY what he was after he wouldn't be reporting on anything he's found. Im no expert by any means but I just graduated from computer science with a particular interest in cyber security and the reddit people can white knight him all day, I don't care lol. There is absolutely NOTHING ethical about what n_t is doing, and its giving

Preach. They value him too highly. I’m sure if he really wanted to focus in and find people cheating - he could. I haven’t had any issues with any of my things. It’s mostly just when people target specific pets/accounts and somebody zooms in on their activity. Anybody who knows what they are doing can continue doing so without much worry at all though. Just another example of people inciting witch-hunts when it suits them.I wonder if we looked closer at the mods on Reddit who allow this to happen, we’d find some sketchy things on their neo accounts too.

Dice explained this a bit more in another channel, but essentially, it boils down to "let him do what he wants even though it breaks our rules because he's doing a little bit of 'good' while hacking".

So essentially, it's like ck just letting a scammer continue scamming on the trade threads because they might out a few other scam users while they're doing it. What's the point of rules if we'll just ignore them when then need to be enforced for being broken?
