I lost a Baby Ogrin to the pound once lol.
Other than that, never had any interesting experiences with the pound. Never seen any UCs in the pound and never pound transferred any myself.
waaay back before customization and when adopting out pets was the "cool" thing to do, i snagged quite a lot of them
my best catch was a Grey Gelert, who i still had after the site changed and remained UC :')
she was the first legit UC I ever had
another one was a DN UC Darigan Lenny. i wish i still had them

Way back when I first started in the cheating scene, I'd have an AA'er going while I sat on "I'm pounding -pet-" threads and snatch the pet from the person who wanted it. More often than not, I caught the pet.
This was before safe transfers and UCs were a thing.

I never saw an uc in the pound, but then again, I don't really like pound surfing... Best thing I saw was a wn maraquan draik I think.
Best thing I pounded to a side was a wn krawk back when they were worth millions.

I did want the pets. I did often make them up as characters for role playing. I didn't really do it to spite anyone... though I'll admit, I loved (and still do) the thrill I get from snatching something out from under someone's nose.
