    Surgery is over!

I broke nine bones in both of my feet last Wednesday night (was holding my dog while going downstairs) and now I'm done with surgery. In so much pain though. Anyone have tips for my next 6-8 weeks in the wheelchair life? Or just want to talk? woowoo spam thread <3

    WOW 9 bones *---* !!!
hope you will feel better soon!

I have never been in a wheelchair before.. nor have I broken my bones!
But it's funny (er maybe not) but I have always wanted an Australian Shepherd (merle one <3) and my dream was sort of like riding a bike with my dog, but I was always scared about the idea of loosing balance/falling because of him.... T---T

    Maybe your dog can walk you on your wheels ^^;

Make a fucking chariot out of the wheelchair and assemble a pack of polar bears to pull you around.

When I broke both of my ankles the best thing to do was keep the foot elevated above your hip as much as possible and also walk very little each day (if you can even do that yet). You might see the healing process is much faster IF you follow doing that.

Omg bbgirl, I hope you had medication or something for it. Basically follow what Joe said and make sure you move it a little when you're able to.
This will keep it from straining the muscle (after being stationary for so long, y'know?) If you /ever/ need to talk my inbox is open. ♥

Why, yes. The world does revolve around me.

Aww, thank you all for your love & support! I love the ck community =) I just passed out for a few hours but now I'm wide awake.
@(you need an account to see links) Thank you! Haha, my dog is old and small, so I'm not sure he can "walk" anyone, especially not on wheels. I live in New England, but I live on the second floor so I'm home in the south with my mom now and she's helping me take care of him.
@(you need an account to see links) yours is my favorite suggestion. But instead of polar bears I want some good grizzlies on my team. Or gators or something
@(you need an account to see links) both good suggestions, but neither for me :c Percocet makes me its bitch by giving me awful headaches, and I'm with my mom when I recover so no weed for me. lamesauce. thanks though =)
@(you need an account to see links) I'm sorry you broke your ankles! When was that, was it recent? Absolutely no walking for me atm, and I'm definitely keeping it elevated. Just so bored ahh. And the IV/anaesthesia (I can never spell it...) was injected into my hand so that's oddly bruised and painful as well
@(you need an account to see links) so much medication. I have a bad reaction to most of it though so it's just like 5x the regular dosage of Tylenol, haha. At least I have the benefit of now saying my foot is part titanium.

12 Tylenol would definitely give you your last headache lol. On a serious note though, I'm glad the surgery went well.

not true at one point in time I was having bad headaches and no insurance took about 15 extra strength Tylenol and well im still here tho I did get quite the mellow feeling of good painkiller

@(you need an account to see links) im sorry you broke your foot, but I know how its feels to be bed ridden, I had a right inguinal hernia repaired they had be on the bed/couch for 2 weeks but my Dr had me so doped up all I could do was sleep and wake up eat then take another pain pill an pass back out, walking after 2 weeks was so hard on me especially with the incision been in the groin area
