I'm really excited for this! I'm sure new companies have fresher ideas and more enthusiasm. I think for the time being it will be good, but no one blows things out of proportion quite like neopets users do. I'm just watching the reactions.
Think how happy we can be when we just try..

Jumpstart business plan -
1. Improve customer service
2. World domination
whoa, did not see that happening.
reading further i hope to whatever gods that it's the truth that JS was interested in the older audience side..
and that JS will care more about other parts of the site other than the NC crap, i've yet to ever have the urge to buy NC things anyway.
i do remember playing some jumpstart games long ago when i was way younger? it's weird to see it resurface like that.
That's all I've ever asked of Neopets
and @(you need an account to see links) agreed, I played the games as well, haven't heard from JumpStart since I was a wee lass. Maybe they're interested in a family-friendly community for the parents? I imagine targeting only kids can be a limiting demographic.

There is hope for the game. Can't wait to see how much it cost them.
u 'mirin?
Someone on Tumblr pointed out Jumpstart has an A+ accreditation at the Better Business Bureau....versus Viacom's D. I just can't imagine this making Neopets any worse.
I took a screenshot just in case the board disappears.
Basically I dont think neo could get any worse, so I am sorta excited
In my opinion i think selling to a smaller company is great for neo, smaller company means that theyll be banking on neo to be a big success, especially when they probably spent a much bigger percentage of their budget than viacom did, so they'll have to listen to the players or they'll lose a huge amount of money which is something they probably wont be able to afford

I'm really optimistic but as mentioned a few times before, a little skeptical about the relative term "older" audience used in the post. If Jump Start usually aims at first graders/toddlers, older might mean something a lot different to them than it does to us. Someone cited a statistic in regards to the current players the other day that the majority was still underneath 13-14, not saying this is entirely the truth, but perhaps we are under the impression that the majority of the users are older players because the only users we interact with are those who can post on the boards?
I'm really curious as to who actually plays on the site, and I think they need to take into account the ages of the users who contribute most to the site (be it NC, page views, time spent, etc). if they really want to improve in understanding their target audience.
