this is a very low tactic, even for TNT. i don't mind gacha aspects, but they definitely should have been more transparent about the be-gone's.

and the fact that these items are ugly anyways is just??? who suggested this idea during the staff meeting? were they high or something??

It's probably already been said but most of the items look like complete dogshit on most of the species. Mouth be gone completely removes some pets jaws/noses.

Wow I just looked at these expressions on DTI, such a shame that they're forcing us to double up with the be-gone items. It's really so shitty. Especially because these expressions look HILLARIOUS and cute and would be so fun to play with!!! But I absolutely refuse to spend so much. Also, why the hell did they release these as mystery capsules??? The be-gone items individually sold and in a superpack is way better. I hate the mystery capsule scam SO much. The manufactured scarcity is extremely annoying. I would spend so much more money if I could just actually pick the things I want and just do the fun paper doll part, the acquisition of items makes me buy nothing on the site and just get everything on the black market lol. Plus I buy way less.

this is exactly why i usually avoid engaging with nc items altogether, and i often wonder if tnt would make more profit if they had fewer limited edition items and random chance capsules. this lottery-style approach to purchasing items drives many people away from spending money on the game. i know i would certainly buy more if there were always more items available in the nc mall, cos the thought of dealing with nc trading just makes me feel exhausted. i just hope that nc ucs don't have this random chance element to them...

I'm still actually amazed that neopets is still legally allowed to provide loot boxes on their website. Aren't they illegal to a degree in parts of Europe where they must disclose % odds for what you get in them?

TNT is fine to try something new, but as @(you need an account to see links) has been saying here, this definitely should have come with some warning on how it works prior to them even releasing the Be-Gone items.

Not to mention they're already somewhat scamming users with deleting NC items and not giving them back...

Yeah, I feel so bad for the people who bought caps and there was no disclaimer apparently? Thats a huge f-up and they should get a refund. In reality, there should have been a huge warning on that cap and probably an announcement made when be gone stuff was introduced.


That being said, judging by the responses, so many people have an issue with the gambling part of capsules too. Buyables arent as effective as gambling in online games unfortunately. I honestly would be really surprised if this site was still here if it were relying on buyables. Especially because they don't form much rarity/incentive to continuously spend money on nc. It would be fine for them to explore other ways though (other than this cause they f'd up the communication/execution) to make money. I think people would complain either way to be honest, even if it were fair for tnt to try something new on their site, but can't be misleading people in any way as obviously it's gonna make people angry.
