I've been doing this for about 10 days and zero frozen neggs so far. Am i just unlucky?

Are you battling on EASY difficulty?

Considering Snowager on easy at 650 HP.

If you're at Level 250 you'll have both Lens Flare + Warlock's Rage which allows you to take on 2 turns without taking damage.

Using Void Blade + Roxton's Knife you can deal enough damage at 500 Attack (11 * 31 icons * 2 hits = 682) you should be able to 2HKO Snowager on Easy without taking damage

If you can make yourself of a freezing weapon (freezing potion, thunder sticks or whatever) you can use that instead of Warlock's Rage. That way you can use Lens Flare on first turn and the second the Snowager won't be able to attack you.

That's what I used to do before getting Warlock. Though I'm not sure how prices are nowadays
