The bug would have been with the original behavior and not how the code is working currently. The majority of conditions for unlocking paints and scenes is tied to Ryugotchi interaction, and while you could accumulate enough interactions to qualify, there was an oversight in the code that required you to specifically be taking care of your own Ryugotchi during the window that the code is rolling for unlockables in order to actually give you a chance to unlock something. That was a mistake. It doesn't make sense to count your cumulative interactions with all Ryugotchis in the community as a condition leading up to the unlock window, and then only allow you to roll for an unlock once you're specifically interacting with your own Ryugotchi. It's a little too easy now, so I've made some additional adjustments since the discussion initially came up, but it was never meant to be that convoluted either.
