Weirdest/wildest Neopets story?

I may not play, but I AM curious... what's your wildest, weirdest, creepiest, most infuriating, or just plain funny experience on NP?
Be it trades, forum exchanges, glitches... I wanna know.

It's been a while since I told this story, and about a million years since it happened. My recall is sketchy at this point.

So I didn't remember exactly the year, but I found a post on an ancient proboards that talks about it.

Late one evening in 2004 (were some of you even born?), krawk petpets were stocked into the smuggler's cove. (Some people say they were plushie painted? I can't recall.) My noob self jumped at the chance to trade for one on the trading post, because there were like, a BUNCH released. I spent a good half or more of my meager NP at the time (in 2004, it was a lot less common to have millions and millions than today) to get one and tossed it in my SDB and went to bed, excited I finally got ahead of the curve on something.

The next morning, the krawk petpet was gone and replaced by a Krawk Apple. r70 junk food item. And the description? 'Yum, this apple is worth every penny you paid for it!'

Burn.

I can only find two other instances where someone mentions this. Eons ago there was a petpage about it supposedly, but it's gone.

Still one of the weirdest things that has ever happened to me personally on the site, and my noob past self was so angry to have wasted half of everything I had on something like that.

Not something that happened to me but I remember when TNT intern chatlogs got accidentally leaked when you fed a Shiny Obsidian to your Grarrl/Skeith, and they talked about "pedowatch" and some stuff like that, was probably the funniest thing I saw when playing Neopets, and pretty weird too. They even referenced cheating programs on it hahaha

If I remember correctly, TNT did this to mess with cove ABers, but as usual with TNT they also messed with a bunch of legit players (like you back then)

I wasn't gonna quote anyone but fuuuuuck dude those are insane. That last girl...her username didn't start with a V and end with a T at all? I've never played NP, but god I ended up in a similar situation a while back on another site [maybe through skype?? god, f to skype, BIG f to MSN]. Two laptops, threatening self harm, the works. I'd even offered to email her parents or something for her so they could send someone to collect it [it wasn't as common then, but, some places DID collect for repairs], and being fairly tech savvy tried to help her fix it.

All of that resulted in her calling me a horrible guy, deserving of death, and that she hoped the cops arrested me for 'cyberbullying' after I told her 'you have a laptop that works, be thankful, if mine ever broke I'd not be able to replace it'.

Rich kids, eh?
