NP rumors!

What rumors have you heard about NP? be it dumb ones you fell for when you were younger, ones you STILL see circulating even though they've been disproven, etc etc.

Years and years back when I was a wee sprog, I was told that if I got my pet a petpet, and a certain item, then it would animate and blink, so I did all that and of course...the fucking thing never blinked, did it!

There was also one I heard off-site about the catapult game that if you could get exactly 666 as a score, submit the score, and not log in to your account for a few hours, when you returned your pets would be dead, and then the next day you'd come back and there'd be devilish ones in their place.

Both SUPER dumb, and definitely made up by some bored shithead that wanted to see people fall for something, but since it's been a good chunk o' years since I played, what stupid rumors and myths have I missed out on? I kiiinda wanna try make a masterpost of them.

If you went to coltzan at exactly midnight there was a chance to gain millions of neopoints. And where I live, midnight is significantly later, around 4am. So many nights I waited for the exact moment, just so that the shrine gave me a single speed point or something. I still don't know if that was true, but thinking back it does sound like bullcrap.

Years ago, some people used to say that if you went at Coltzan Shrines and claimed the reward exactly midnight NST you'd get 1m NPs. In the time, I was a kid and 1m was a lot for me, so I decided to try it. The main problem was that midnight NST is 4a.m here so I had to put an alarm up. So I tried it at first, didn't work, but I always failed and then thought "maybe I was a few seconds late or ahead", and kept trying for days. I probably spent a week having a terrible sleep time until I gave up and noticed I was being fooled hahahah

Nah ... I think that it's common knowledge by now that Punchbag Sid has been unavailable since the new Battledome was published. If only because hits won't let anybody forget. There are too many do-gooders around to debunk silly rumors like that in the Neoboards nowadays!
