I don't get why so many people take the rank increase suggestions so literally. You don't have to make guides and stuff - you just need to make positive contributions to the community. That can be as simple as getting out there and socializing in a way that puts a smile on somebody's face. A few +1s later, and you've ranked up. It's that easy. We're looking for meaningful engagement!

I think people take rep really seriously, like I know I reaaaaally reserved it for large contributions before bc I didn’t want to misuse it haha! But other people giving it for smaller things like Bat mentioned helped me change how I thought of it.

We appreciate that people take rewarding +rep seriously, but the people looking to earn it just need to put themselves out there for a start. It may seem difficult, but the whole purpose of a forum is communication. There are unlimited opportunities to make connections with people, and +rep is a reward for your participation.
