It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

I grew up in an area with a lot of trees so any sort of storm would take them down and power lines with them. My parents eventually got a generator because after things like hurricanes the power could be out for weeks.

i went down a lil rabbit hole (apparently fill your slurpee day isn't 7-11 anymore and instead they do free small slurpee cups on 7-11 now)

i get that! for me, i love the smell of the beach, the feel of warm sand between my toes, and the cool ocean breeze! i definitely don't like it when the beaches are crowded or the sticky feeling you get after.
but the beach on a hot day, cool ocean breeze, cold drinks, and good company is always a fun summertime vibe for me

i definitely get that it isn't everyone's cup of tea though, one of my close friends hates the beach too haha

I used to love the beach when I was younger, I would be the first one out of the car and at the beach making sandcastles!
I remember trying to catch fishes with a toy pail too, not sure how I did it but I managed to catch small fishes with it.

I dislike the beach now because it gets crowded but I still love taking walks in the early mornings or late nights and just listen to the waves

Ahhhhhhh thunderstorms are happening in my area tomorrow! My excitement is THROUGH THE ROOF! We haven't had any good storms this year and let me tell you, I am completely underwhelmed.

How is the weather where you guys are in the world? Any fun violent rain happening?

I'm SO jealous! Weather here is calm. Thankfully it's at least not too hot but I'd give anything for a summer storm right now. I feel like we should have figured out weather control technology by now. Where are all the mad scientists I was promised? We need rain and I need fewer neighbors lighting illegal fireworks and scaring the shit out of me and triggering my cptsd and more of nature's fireworks being cool af.
Also side note why WHY do my neighbors light fireworks off in broad daylight???? WHO IS THIS FOR??

I personally am a sand hater. Call me Anakin. It is coarse and rough and irritating, and it really does fucking get everywhere! The only kinds of beaches I like are super rocky/cliff side ones. Nothing is more beautiful than looking out over the sea from a high cliff! Bonus points if it is soft and grassy and there are big clouds in the sky.

But wow, I had no idea KFC did slushies! Then again, I guess KFC is not super popular here in Canada I only have it literally once every 5 years or so, if that!

KFC is stupidly popular here, especially since its been associated with the cricket! Growing up we used to have KFC for Christmas lunch too

Not sure why my other post was deleted, but I was saying that Im not sure I would drink from the toilet one (7-11 day). No matter how hot the day way or how thirsty I am lol

BUT! The beach is a good place to relax and cool off, and I totally understand why people like it! Maybe I dont like it because of the heat and just being outside. If Im honest, I really dont like going out much.
I'll hang with friends and such at times, but I would rather stay home and relax

As an Aussie I'd die without the beach in summer! Sand gets annoying but at some point you gotta get out of 40C heat lol!
Last summer we had a few local penguins active at the beach due to lockdowns, first time I've ever seen them in the wild!

Ah, but KCF is so good! I dont have it often, but when I do, I REALLY love the chicken tenders they have!
As for Christmas, I believe Japan does that as well correct? I would much rather have KFC for dinner/lunch than a turkey and stuffing that we normally have lol

Okay but like??? I raise you the pool????? not full of critters or trash or seaweed or sharp rocks/shells you can cut your feet on, clearer to see through idk pools hit different for me they just feel more relaxing maybe because of like spa connotations xD
