I've been watching The Alienist and Unsolved Mysteries personally, idk why but the lockdown has made me want to binge crime shows for some reason?? The Alienist is pretty heavy with its topics though, so I usually end up watching it a few episodes at a time

Unsolved Mysteries is one of my favorite shows! I used to watch it as a kid and it was exciting to learn new episodes are coming out for it.

That's what I'm leaning towards. It's just hard to keep up with the application momentum. Currently I'm in the middle of the process with a company I'd love to work for and it's so hard to not devote everything to this one potential job instead of continuing to spread my efforts to study/apply/send outreach messages/et cetera.

The new seasons are alright, really glad they've done away with the Lost Loves segments

Not a fan of one case per episode. They could easily fit in 2 possibly 3 cases. During the last episode it felt like they repeated a ton of information

I liked the original run as a kid and regularly get lost in a good unresolved rabbit hole now, but I haven't checked out the new series yet.

If anybody is like me and likes stuff like that, but wants to keep things lighter, I recently discovered /r/nonmurdermysteries which is fun, but I haven't gotten lost in anythig yet.

If it is your `dream company` then theres nothing wrong with shifting a little more focus over to this potential job. But as you already figured out, since it is just a potential job and not yet guaranteed you should probably continue to weave yourself a safety net out of the other efforts you named

Not necessarily a dream, but up there. It makes the short list.

I do notice I've hit the userbar and as much as I want to keep talking about tv and movies and mysteries, maybe I should take this part of the conversation as a sign I should go do some practice problems to prep for my next interview, or something.

Oh, they got rid of the Love segments? Thank goodness. Those and the treasure cases I just personally didn't care for. I think the treasure ones were bad because they didn't really go in depth on how it got there or it's history. Just "Tom buried this gold 3 years ago for some reason whatsoever, Jake has been looking for it for 15 years with no luck."...ok then thanks for that intermission, now go back to the missing person mystery.
