Those same people restocking everything also have many accounts gathering advent calendar prizes, so no matter how they release a rare item, people like "that one guy" will benefit. Nothing wrong with putting good items in the shops. I see plenty of legit (or supposedly legit) people plucking profitable items from the shops. Even a massive botnet isn't going to get every little thing.
100%. There are things with 50k - 500k in profit that you can get even if you're pretty slow. Or just grab lots of easy 10k-20k profit items like Neggs in the food store. There is a timer on restocking multiple items in a row so there's plenty of time for everyone to grab things.

If you have missed any of the days to collect the prizes, just go and buy them. They are so inexpensive now. This always happens with Advent items. Even the really high end items have dropped in price.
