It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

storms are probably one of my favorite parts of the summer too! either sitting on my front porch, or in the living room with the door and all the windows open. the smell and sounds are soo soothing.

despite being an avid "indoor kid" i absolutely love summer time. i live in one of the snowiest cities in the US so when we get those few glorious months of sun i try to soak them up. i'm in the great lakes region, so i'm super blessed to live semi-close to the water and be able to kayak frequently. my town also had loads of cultural festivals, live music, and other outdoor events that make summer super fun (i'm actually going to see a band play at the beach after work today). my city isn't massive, so crowds are always reasonable too.

as far as staying cool, i LOVE ice cream in all it's forms. there's small ice cream shop in walking distance of my house. you have to trek up a terrible hill to get there so i always count the walk as my healthy balance to the ice cream
