New House - New DIYs

Despite not having a single DIY bone in my body I loooooooove watching renos/am addicted to HGTV - loving this photos! The end result turned out so well and is absolutely stunning. Yall did a great job!

Definitely not good for resale. But if you only do things in your house for the next people... your just renting from them. All about making it your own space and safe haven!

I completely agree, I put in skylights in 3 rooms in my house because I like having a lot of houseplants and natural light, and people told me it would limit who would want to buy the house from me in the future. But I almost bought plenty of houses when I was shopping bc of skylights so I know at least some people like them, and the WHOLE POINT of buying my own house is so I can put in skylights, plant whatever plants I want, paint the rooms weird colors etc. Plus I also love where I live and I'm planning to stay here indefinitely so it's not worth worrying about whoever will buy it 15 years from now....or 70 years from now when my kids have to sell it after I die

I've also been on reddit a lot for learning house stuff, but sometimes it feels like such a crapshoot with the info you get on there. people in the comments will really just say anything and there's always like 3 conflicting opinions. Mostly what I've learned from there is what specialized professionals I need to call for certain things, like arborists etc.

Our kitchen is a mess and nothing is quite done yet.
