Honestly, almost any song by Imogen Heap. Her music is poignant, energizing, and relaxing all at once.

I am a /huge/ Tool fan. Have been since I was a child, and this song remains at my top favorite. Maynard James Keenan, the vocalist of Tool, said he dislikes performing this song live because it's extremely sentimental to him and some concertgoers fail to appreciate that.

A lot of associate this song with break ups but uh...it's very much about the aftermath of suicide. As some one who has been on both sides, it's incredibly heart breaking and a beautiful acknowledgement that there are people you will leave behind to pick up the pieces if you decide to take your own life.

    Lyrics
I fell by the wayside like everyone else
I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, but I was just kidding myself
Our every moment, I start to replace
'Cause now that they're gone, all I hear are the words that I needed to say

When you hurt under the surface
    Like troubled water running cold
Well, time can heal, but this won't
    So, before you go
Was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better?
If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather
    So, before you go
Was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting?
It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless
    So, before you go

Was never the right time, whenever you called
Went little by little by little until there was nothing at all
Our every moment, I start to replay
But all I can think about is seeing that look on your face
When you hurt under the surface
    Like troubled water running cold
Well, some can heal, but this won't

    So, before you go
Was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better?
If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather
    So, before you go
Was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting?
It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless
    So, before you go

Would we be better off by now
If I'd have let my walls come down?
Maybe, I guess we'll never know
    You know, you know

    Before you go
Was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better?
If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather
    So, before you go
Was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting?
It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless
    So, before you go
Sorry I know this post is old but I guess I never really /listened/ to this song? Because like you said, most associate it with break ups as I did as well.

But I just relistened to it because I decided to browse the music threads to get a playlist going for gaming tonight and now I've REALLY listened to it and jdhfkljdsfdf

This song don't make me cry, but it does makes me feel deeply saddened

    TW: death, suicide

    Come on over, come unglued
It's not easy to see all of you
Help yourselves, help is on the way
Well, there's nothing to lose, so now I have something to say
Maybe we can all recognize a moment of silence
Maybe we can finally agree on the same point of view
A long time ago we believed, and we were united
So the last thing on Earth I am ready to do is say "goodbye"

A long time ago we discovered that nothing could stop us
This hasn't torn us apart, so nothing ever will
How can we know where we are if the sun is behind us?
But this moment will show us the rest of our lives
No one is going to save us this time
No one can know what we're feeling, so don't even try

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. You have my condolences. Certain songs can be so powerful in provoking certain emotions, I hope music is helping you.

@(you need an account to see links) You have my condolences as well. Your aunt sounded like such a special person : (

When the skies are looking bad, my dear
And your heart's lost all it's hope
After dawn there will be sunshine
And all the dust will go
The skies will clear, my darling
Now it's time for you to let go
I go to wake you up in the mornin' with some tea and toast
