Show off your userbar "theme"!

This is my favorite time of year because of all the pink around the site everyone's userbar stacks look amazing!!

Pink for cupid season, but flanked by black for balance (just pretend those greens and yellowish match)

I feel like if I practice more I could make it less frenetic, but I'm out of watercolor paper. And then of course when I went to order more I started thinking about getting some alcohol-based markers to try instead because I'm pretty sure that's what the artist uses. I'd been feeling super uninspired and just a total creative block to do a coding-based one like I normally do, so on impulse decided I'd just try something completely different because I was also in a watercolor mood.

The gif speed is the main thing that feels frenetic to me. So you’re saying that’s all watercolor/marker that’s been photographed and then compiled into a gif?! So cool!!! I’d love to see the whole piece!

hmm, I see what you're saying. I was a bit excited and having a hard time getting it to feel right, if I slowed too much it became obvious how un-smooth it was, so just went for it. I just tweaked the speed a bit and also added some tween-y frames, which kind of feels like cheating on the whole "made-by-hand" idea, but it's my first go at this, so I'm giving myself a pass. Plus I had to do some fudging with the sizes after scanning.

And yeah! This is all watercolor, but the artist I'm copying uses markers, which I think might be a little easier to control. This is the whole piece scanned:



Each section is about 8x1 CM, which is roughly the dimensions of a userbar, but I couldn't find a straight edge and don't have my cutting mat on hand, so I was doing it with a fabric tape measure and a bookend, so some are a little off which I did my best to fix with warp tool, but once shrunk down, I don't think it made that much of a difference.
