It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

Hot weather sucks ); Luckily for my area the heat is said to come down for a few days, but we go back up to around 86+ on Friday.
At least all the Fireworks are done with...well, at least not as much as last night lol

Oh I tried a friend's supergoop recently, I think I still got burned a little on my face as the skin was peeling later in the week but that's probably just a me problem

Honestly I've been seeing ads (not targeted at all <.<; ) for I think it's called like unicorn snot? And it's sunscreen with glitter and other fun pigments in it so you can live out your Twilight vampire dreams this summer LOL I have not tried it but it looks super fun xD I'm a pretty basic bitch though and just use the Neutrogena cream or spray ones from the drug store - however my friends who care about asian skin care really like the Nessa brand for face sunscreen + moisturizer (and it's got a hefty price tag too) or I think the Japanese Biore ones for cheaper/body alternative.

Neutrogena spf 45 is definitely a winner. I think though my biggest issue is reapplying throughout the day. I feel like it should be a one and done but I’m a demanding consumer lol.

Also lol@unicorn snot. I hate sparkles but the name is hilarious and it seems great considering they’re sold out!

Before I moved to the place Im at now, I didnt really have AC as well. I had to buy one of those big fans just so I could cool off lol
My old apartment use to get SO hot and so damn stuffy! Its part of why I hate summer so much. I just get so uncomfortable

Okay so the fireworks weren't horrible last night. Heard like one or two far away and that was it :p

Fireworks weren't bad here either. I could hear some faintly so I went up to my building's roof to see if I could catch any, but it was too foggy. I guess somebody could see them somewhere otherwise I assume they'd not be bothering. I was a tiny bit disappointed because it's been a few years since I've caught any, but I was also exhausted all of yesterday due to poor sleep, so was fine having an excuse to retreat back to my couch. Just glad people weren't going crazy despite the fog because I had not been looking forward to the noise at all. It was pretty bad in my last city.

I did not get any pictures from yesterday aside from the one below, but we had burgers. Yum

I was too tired, I did not stay up to watch the fireworks but thats fine because it is not something that interests me anyway. They did keep me up, though... lol. My poor dog was terrified.

On the theme of popsicles and ice cream, I did have one of these after dinner. It has been a while

Here is around 68F I think is perfect this way. 86+ is hot :/

I just cant imagine my life without my beautiful AC lol. In really hot days it gets around 45C (113F) here, so it's veery hot. You can live with a fan, but you have to be in front of the fan 24/7 xD

This summer I'm going to try practicing more work life balance so I can actually make time to enjoy the sunshine and my free time.

We mus have switched. I woke up to sunshine, and we were actually able to take the kids outside for a nature walk to look for bugs and mushrooms! And it’s stayed sunny all day so far knock on wood!
