It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

But one good thing about summer is being able to relax and enjoy some Raspados! Oh my when I was a kid we had a guy come by our house that sold them all the time!
... now I want some lol

Oh gosh I've never tried Mexican style shaved ice but I looked up pics of raspados and they look GLORIOUS ;o; I don't think I've ever seen them in my area though wahh u.u

Off topic but uhhh I now have blue hair dye all over the bathroom floor aND I CANT GET IT OUT MY FAMILY IS GOING TO FLIPpp!

But to stay on topic I like to colour my hair bright during the summer months This year is blue andddd ive made a potential mess that may be permanent in the bathroom :')

I've never colored my hair, nor have known anyone who did, but at my job I see SO many people who have such beautiful colors! Kind of makes me want to give it a try, but I just feel a little to old to be doing that sort of thing.
I would totally do purple though lol

NOOOO you're never too old to dye your hair!! If you want to do it, you should absolutely do it self expression and living your life to the fullest is what we're all about!! also YES purple 100/10 go for it! although just be careful because purple dyes tend to wash out/fade very quickly so it's fairly high maintenance, also if you have dark hair you will have to bleach a bunch ;;

The one that use to come by my house just did it real simple. The shaved ice and the ... juice? lol Tbh, I never actually found out what that juice was called.
But it was sweet and crispy! Perfect for a summers afternoon.

Hell, I remember when our grandfather use to buy us all a Raspado and right after we would go chill in the AC room and watch Unsolved Mysteries!
THAT show use to scare me. Especially the theme music lol

I'd like to, but Im also at the point to where I wont be able to maintain it as much as I should lol
I have a lot of health problems and it keeps me from doing things that I'd like to do. BUT I could do it, I just would have a hard time trying to keep it in order lol

I do have dark hair though, so RIP. My cousin use to dye his hair all the time, so maybe if I do go for it, I can ask him for help!

Maybe a permanent dye could get the color for longer so you don't have to worry that much about it ♥? Every day we're getting more colourful options for hair as it has become way more popular c:

All this food talk has made me really think about what I want to cook for the long weekend. I'm half contemplating doing burgers but with a korean twist. OR getting a full cap brisket and smoking it for a day. Or both!

But I do know that I want to make some sort of strawberry bonanza dessert. I'm really-really-really leaning towards this strawberry cake by Claire Saffitz on NYT...

Oh man I feel this in my bones lol!! I had blue hair for like three years during uni and no matter where I was living, dorm or apartment, if someone had to use the bathroom they KNEW xD that shit stains white tubs like no other!

It's super fun buttttt it's just a lot of upkeep and work to keep the colour vibrant! Also you end up staining everything lmao
