I'm personally not that interested in UC's, however, they do look pretty cool. This move will make the company a lot of bank methinks. The hype for it is all still there, albeit it's dragged out for a lot longer than what most people had anticipated. Let's see how smoothly (or not) the release goes....

Would be a lot more fun if they released some old names from frozen accounts, tired of naming my neopets like Elon musk names his kids.

Taking this with the absolute smallest grain of salt to ever exist. Signing a NDA like this only to basically immediately break it is asking to get into legal trouble, and I doubt that if there was a NDA being signed by people, that many were made to do it. So the person who leaked this would get into trouble pretty much immediately. And OP of the thread posted it on the PC rather than anywhere else, which pretty much tells me they did it for attention or did it so that they could make people panic and subsequently panic trade.

See, this is a very valid point. If people were indeed made to sign an NDA at the VIP event, it could most definitely be bad for said person who's 'leaked' the info.

On the other hand, it would be shitty AF for this person to do so to create panic and essentially 'lessen' the value of current UC's even more (probably for personal gain more than anything). They could potentially get someone desperate enough to take lowball offers and end up with a decent OG UC pet for bugger all.

If they did launch UCs will it only be for the species/colours that existed at the time or will they make new art for everything that came after?

That's the big question right now. It's all pretty up in the air about how they're planning on releasing them, but I hope we get more art. I want an UC Faerie Bori BAD

I don’t think that they would make “UC” versions of species and colours that came after 2007. It would be awesome to see UC versions of all the colours that can put before the conversion be available, but I’m not holding my breath for it.

Seconded, but where did the NDA come from? I haven’t heard of anybody having to sign one.

And no one who signs a NDA - as in, one they have to actually sign, in person, rather than like a dumb online NDA you scroll through is probably going to leak their info to someone. Much less to someone who is part of the site as a trader and thus would have an actual reason to want to spread this either to achieve their goals or to spread chaos in a space to make it more lively.

If in some way this is true, I will literally eat my hat live on cam for all of clraik to see LOL.

Or if the pet naming system was revamped so that pets are linked to numeric IDs instead and names are non-unique. I imagine that'd take a lot of work to implement, and the chaos that would cause among users...
