Especially those of you who are EXTRAAA sneaky and escape the eyes of the neopets police. Do you buy stuff at all? Or has everyone lost all hope and waiting for neo to accept death? I don't know long neo is gonna be around for, all I know is I'd rather part with 10 bucks than try to trade or advertise my shit on the PC
anytime i have some money to spare, my thoughts about spending on new and it coming to an end, i already spent a lot in many games, most of them i stopped completly, i like to keep the thought: it was fun and worth it when i was playing, so i'm not regretting that.
but if you have a real life goal and need to save money, i'd advise you to, it's just about managing what you have and actually only using money that you won't need in the game

i dont buy much these days but its more because i dont see the need to. ocassionally ill buy an nc item from a friend but thats about it. i dont regret wasting money on neopets tho bc it was worth it, even the stuff that came to bite me in the ass later

i buy stuff once in a while maybe every 3-4 months. usually a new pet followed by some nc items to customize it with. sometimes i fancy a unchecked account gamble.
4 years and still going strong -shrug-
I haven't bought anything for a couple of years and even then it was just an item here and there. Personally, other than buying VIP to use the programs, I don't have any plans to spend any money on Neo anymore.
Back when I was really active I used to buy (and sell) quite a bit. After a couple years of that, my main and some other accounts got frozen but I still had enough left over to restart without spending too much real $. It did teach me that 'owning' stuff on Neopets is slippery though. It's not like a real thing you can hold in your hands and safely keep. Nothing is really yours. But the risk is part of the fun
I haven't bought anything in a few years, back then I made a few purchases in the span of a few months and I was fine. Lately I haven't bought anything but I have acquired some things off old accounts on my own and been fine. I have one I acquired on my legit account and been fine, the other two I haven't moved yet but they have been fine as well

I buy semi-mains and the occasional main every now and then. My primary main never does any transactions itself so I can always use more decent accounts as buffers to trade/sell items
