The original Krawk, the post conversion and finally my rework. The rework took maybe like 45 mins total? I did a quick vector with Illustrator but ended up making further edits in Photoshop after. The point of my rework was to maintain the integrity of the original while keeping it customization friendly. I didn't try *too* hard because I have a screechy 3 year old to deal with. It's not perfect but I always hated how the post-conversion Krawk looked. The hamfists and floppy feet annoy the crap outta me.

I can imagine all the wearable shit would take forever to redraw if the pets themselves get redrawn or reworked. A necklace or shirt won't look the same on a Bruce like it would on a Krawk.
Looking at this, I feel like the main flaw with the new Krawk is the change in eyes/face. Never noticed that before.

You just dont have to deal with one type (which would be the risk of a returning user). Totally fair to be put off by it - I am too honestly haha

i love them. they remind me of the neopets the site i enjoyed. i remember looking up the various poses before deciding on what colour i wanted my pet to be. getting to paint my pet felt like an actual accomplishment. pets then had charm and personality.

between the bland, lifeless style of converted pets and the various limitations of customisation (e.g., clothes not fitting certain species well, layering issues), i could never quite get into customising pets. there really hasn't been a converted pet that made me go, "i have to have one!" upon its release. and i miss that feeling.

I feel like customizing is only fun with bipedal and 'human looking' pets.

I'm a bit thankful that UCs never really interested me.
When the conversion happened, I was over the moon of happiness.
Today, I do understand their appeal and worth, and I respect it. But they are not for me.
I'm just happy that every painted converted pet is super easy to get nowadays :')
