God, this sucks. I had mostly secondhand knowledge of people talking about Willow, but she seemed like a great person and passionate employee! Also, god, how can they just keep...cutting roles.
Messed up. Every month I get a reminder of why I do not buy NC or merch from them. I hope they find better jobs.

I can see this as a cost-effective move from management seeing how their roles were community managers and thinking about the recently implemented ambassador program; but also as a shitty move that jeopardizes the already tainted trust of the userbase.
Some people went all paranoid thinking they were going under but I see it as a way to get rid of employees that get paid "too much" and then hire people in Hong Kong with a lower wage.
Whatever the reason is, I don't see how management thought this would reflect well on them and worse even, a day before the holidays. I'd be so salty if this happened to me.
Wow. This is... This is really bad. I feel for them, terrible timing with the holidays coming up as well. I really hope that they find something better.

Seems like TNT pulled the trigger on cash flow restructuring before year end(very typical).
Given the company is registered in HK, I would not be surprised if they are starting to cut more "expensive" full time staff(eg us based) in order to switch human capital funding to HK or contracting work. Not fun but unfortunately this happens when VC money comes with new demands, etc.
Hopefully they both use the giant microphone they have right now to find a new job. Despite the crappy situation, they have thousands of players who know about their situation and could put in a reference.

It's the perfect solution! Why pay two people minimum wage (I assume, at least) every week, when you can pay a handful of people $10 a month? Didn't you know? Slave labor is IN!
