PSA: TNT will not move glitch-name pets anymore

As of today or yesterday, it seems TNT has decided they will no longer move glitch-named pets, period.

For anyone unaware, there was a very brief period of time when Grundos were launched onto the site that they could be created with special characters, like spaces and symbols, in their names. These names cause issues for the on-site automatic pet movement systems (transfers, trades, pound), so they could only be moved manually by TNT via ticket.

To prevent TNT from having to move them every 20 seconds, TNT claimed a glitch named pet could only be moved once, and then never again.

But recently people have discovered that you can, indeed, get them moved multiple times, so people started putting them up on the PC as regular trade fodder.

Apparently, enough glitch-named pets have entered the PC mainstream that TNT is finally putting their foot down and saying they will not move them anymore. Done.

No idea if this "depends on the Alice" still, but it doesn't seem like it, considering multiple people have confirmed being told this. I also confirmed it myself.

Is it really too much to ask for or is TNT just increasingly lazy and unwilling to aid the fanbase? How many glitched pets are there and how many get traded? If there were hundreds I'd get it but I think there's less than 10 actively being traded...

The optimist in me thinks this is hinting at them fixing whatever bug prevented them from being traded in the first place, but y'know... 😂

I hope they're aiming to try and fix the glitch, but I'm not very hopeful. Glitch names were a gimmick I never understood, there was only ever one glitch name on the entire website I ever liked (Moo Moo) all the rest sucked.
It's probably for the best, though. The less tickets clogging the system the better.

If that's the reason they no longer want to do this they should block sus pet tickets from report happy PC'ers. You can't convince me these tickets are what's clogging the system.

Glitch names are more common than people think, but they don't trade very frequently. Players are always super surprised when another one pops up, but fail to realize that there are literally hundreds up to thousands of these. 💛 I would estimate 1-3 glitch trades per month, which doesn't seem like a lot of work. She ends up getting two tickets for one glitch transfer request, and I don't think it takes more than a couple of seconds/minutes to facilitate the trade, but I can see her wanting to slim down on these things to have more time to answer tickets from people with more serious issues. "Alice" seems to be the only person handling the support right now, which must be incredibly hard given the number of tickets that have been sent in just a week. There are already ~13k new tickets since the leadership change. However, I do think that if they want to reduce the number of tickets, they better update their policy and stick to it. It's ridiculous how many times things change, how much more work they create for themselves by saying one thing and doing another, and how they treat everyone quite poorly all the time. Also, "Permanent" ain't a damn thing with TNT's inconsistency. I wouldn't be surprised if Alice allowed these types of transfers in a week again. We will see! Trading is arguably the biggest part of the game, and they better not forget it.

That's pretty much where I landed with this as well: It was pretty obviously done in response to people just blatantly flouting the policy and trading them all over the place in quick succession; moreso the principle of the thing than the actual workload (though the ticket system is also ridiculously busy and understaffed)

Hopefully once the dust settles they will still allow glitch pet transfers as-intended (quietly, once, to a user who solemnly swears they aren't going to be an idiot about it)

I'm not really sure how they seemingly can't tell if a glitch pet has been traded before (hence why you could get them moved more than once). They've said before they can attach notes to an account. Plus, all glitch name pets are a Y2. (late August, specifically.) If they look at the account the pet is on, and the account is not physically old enough to have created a pet in August of 2000, then the pet has been moved.

I guess getting them moved multiple times required your support person to not care to check at all (in which case, why is moving them a problem? If it really were a huge hassle, you'd think they'd be very motivated to say "Nope, I can see here this pet has already been moved and you swore you wanted it")

As a side note, does anyone know if glitch name pets can be adopted from the pound? The board from yesterday was discussing it, and people said they can be pounded, but not adopted... but I thought I'd heard of it happening. (I've also heard of one glitch name pet who couldn't be adopted from the pound as well- but that pet's name was just a space, it had no other characters, so there was some speculation that maybe it was unique)

They can be pounded, but unfortunately, you won't be able to readopt them. I think they cause major issues for the pound itself, which is why TNT has deleted them in the past. They don't even return them, just straight up obliterate them, lol. 😂 They have been a couple in the past. I think Pteri Buns was another, and the space character (invisible 1C). Oh! There was also Mr._Bunny_man
