Neopets Mobile Closed Beta

Here's the e-mail for people who were curious.

Wait so this is a beta version if the new website also? Its not just for the mobile app?

I'm not a fan of the whitespace & I hope they will change that.

Maybe I have an unpopular opinion, but I kind of like what they did so far in majority. There's some things that they HAVE to change of course. I'm beginning to think they should name that phase of the process "Alpha". I don't think they worked on enough parts of the mobile version to be called "Beta". BUT We must remember that Beta is the beginning of a process of an app release (Beta is after the Alpha process). The Beta don't always reflect what to project will look like at the end. I know that many people are not happy with the beta look. We must be patient I think. We have to report issues or things that we don't like & luckily they will listen (but I'm not sure with TNT for that tho).

What concerns me is that things don't look even CLOSE to finished.
They rolled it out to a smaller group of accounts, but now it looks like they're rolling it out to ALL premium members in the near future. To me, that's a "Here, we're done what to do you think?" statement.

I'm questionning myself about that too and I understand the fear. I'm fearing that they think they're done because it's FAR from being done.



For me (In the past, I was working in game & project development) they're at Pre-Alpha or Alpha phase. Not Beta.
For me, the beta is when the majority if not ALL the components of the project are put together. YES there's gonna be bugs & adjustements, but the majority of the back-end & front-end of the app/project is done.
It's my opinion btw.

Like what @(you need an account to see links) said i am not vibin at all with the massive amounts of white space and the amount of assets that have yet to be converted properly

Nooooo the blank spaces D: I assumed it would fit better in the desktop version... if that�s what we end up with I�ll be really sad.

I'm fine with this as long as they leave access to the desktop mode and I'll just never use it :/ It's not well balanced with all that white space on the sides, the main view of your pets doesn't show customizations, and some ucs really don't look right in the customization feature, like they're very slightly pixelated or the lines are really thinned out but it's not all ucs, all in my 3 minutes of using it. This looks like it's webkinz or something.

What I enjoy about it: Aside from the white space, this aesthetically is a return to Neopets Jr. for me. I recognize that this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but as a player who started out with Neopets at an age where the "home base" was very colorful, bold lettering, and very childish - this is kinda soothing and makes me pretty happy.

What I don't enjoy about it:
- The blank space makes most pages uncomfortable.
- Unconverted pets don't scale properly, and that is a result of the homepage disregarding all wearables that don't directly touch the pet. Like I hate my UC pets being noticably bigger than my Maraquan Lutari.
