They won't. I'm willing to bet the site will eventually shut down under JS. I doubt the numbers from Premium and NC are as good as you guys think they are...probably just enough to keep the site up in it's half-fucked state.
I highly doubt they'll sell it anytime soon. They're starting to work on revamping the site for mobile use. If they were going to sell it, I don't think they'd be undergoing that giant task.

If they put the site into a app would be a game changer, Most of the games would make for cool mobile games as well. Since JS took control gone down hill fast like a car with no brakes down a hill leading into a brick wall that says Fuck you once you hit it.
Apps would save the site if marketed right towards kids which would lead to more adults playing it too. Just dreams

Never gonna happen. They do not have the resources for that and app developers cost a shitton to hire unless you're outsourcing that.
Plus there's the whole nostalgia factor, and kids will not pick this up even if they made it to market because Neopets only appeals to adults now (who played the game when they were kids).
The website will be dead in 5 years unless they can turn a profit fast. Their data is way worse than I expected. :/
I don't think it would be sold anytime soon but I don't fully understand while JS bought it in the first place. Why would they want the rights to the character/art especially since Neopets is a dying site?
They can use the underlying IP (intellectual property) to do whatever they want to appeal to kids.
The website is like a box, it limits what they can market because the end goal is to get players on a dying and buggy website that was fun over 10 years ago. They won't spend money on that now, but once it's defunct they might take that art, etc, and use it for other purposes with the end goal of attracting a new user base that isn't tied to a millenial website.
They need an app that lets you pet/feed/play with your neopets like Pokemon did.
They should partner up with a bigger company
