One question for jumpstart. If this is a website aimed at children, why are they selling pixels for $160 USD. What parent in their right mind will buy that?

Lets be real, neopets hasn't had a majority child player base in the past near decade now. I don't know who they think they're fooling.

They can't have it both ways imho. They can't depend on the 'it's a children's brand' excuse when they don't want to change filters on the boards, but toss it out the window when they decide to hop into the cryptocurrency sphere.

Decide what you want, fam. Plenty of brands cater to both demographics and aren't weird about it. Find that direction. (And let's pray to Fyora that it's away from cryptobro bullshit.)

I've just finished reading this entire thread, and there's just so much to take on it's wild. The entire NFT thing is pretty random and sort of came out of no where. I can't understand why they couldn't just leave Neo alone or perhaps them putting more effort into fixing the site than putting their energy into this.

When people buy nc on site, it has always been known that the buyer does not own the artwork, or pieces they are buying and that at any given time, they can be taken away. Isn't this similar? Instead of purchasing items you don't own, you would instead purchase tokens and use those around the site to further your gaming experience. Am I misunderstanding?
In no way, shape or form am I defending tnt and their decisions, just trying to get a mental grasp on the shit that might hit the fan before it does.

I honestly would love some clarification as well. I feel like when I keep on thinking about NFTs, my head hurts a bit in trying to understand why people buy beyond making that quick buck by selling it off to the next gullible person.

They have always been contradicting like this but it was basically just to keep that kid friendly website status. I dunno why anymore since so many kids are on roblox now, scamming each other and fucking each others moms on fortnight or w/e the squeakers are playing now. Not playing neopets.
