    Yep:

Less than 1 out of 100 women will get pregnant each year if they always use NuvaRing as directed.
Less than 1 out of 100 women will get pregnant each year if they always use the birth control shot as directed.

I would really do it if you want a more convenient birth control.[COLOR="Silver"]

While I was researching it I found this:

3 YEARS?! That's insane! But it's reversible, so if I want kids before it expires I have that option.
Definitely looking into that one, I'll ask my doc if they have it at my clinic.

Don't mind me just a guy swinging by. Seriously though being a woman seems like too much work. If being on birth control sucks and giving birth sucks you have a lose lose.

I just recently started birth control and, while I didn't gain any weight (I've actually continued my weight loss), everything has been a little out of whack for me.
    Kinda unrelated, but...
What I did notice with the pill that I take is that, for ~ 2 weeks after starting it, I had such bad cravings.
I would crave things so badly allllllll the time.
People would say completely unrelated things and I would just start thinking about and talking about food - more than usual.
I remember having a conversation with @(you need an account to see links) once and she told me about someone and how they were being a, and I quote, "horn dog" (because she's a qtpie and still uses phrases like that, LOL ).
I literally spent the next 2 or 3 days thinking about corn dogs.
    Horn dogs... corn dogs...
    I couldn't stop.
I talked about wanting pizza and I joked about flying from Florida to Chicago just to get an authentic deep-dish pizza... except I think part of me actually considered it, LOL...
I was obsessive with my cravings.
Luckily, I've been committed to my healthy eating plan for long enough that I was able to battle it and it didn't last very long, but I can *easily* see how, under any other circumstances, I would have gained weight quick, just to feed the cravings.
They were all I thought about.
Luckily, though, they went away and now, hopefully, things will get on a smooth track and be good to go.

I've only heard bad things about Depo shots, tbqh. :/
Two of my co-workers had them for a while, and one of them had her period for 9 months straight before refusing to take another one, when her doc suggested just one more round of the shot "just to see if it would get better."

I do have, however, a co-worker who's on NuvaRing, as well, and she loves it.
She really encouraged me to try it - she said it's the 6th (6th!!) type of birth control she's ever tried and it's the only one that hasn't made her depressed, moody, tired, nauseous, or gain weight.
So, if, like you said, you're someone who cbf with taking a daily pill, I would suggest that, as well.

I'm just concerned with the NuvaRing falling out during...sexy time

Like >__> wtf that scares me lol.

Researching Implanon, people have been saying there's been a lot of issues with long periods- but I hardly get periods on Depo so I don't think it would be an issue for me? However, having a little rod thing in my arm for 3 years doesn't sound like an awesome alternative LOL.

I'm on the fence with two right now. Implanon, a hormone rod the size of a match that is placed inside of your arm and is effective for 3 years but can be removed whenever you want and you're able to have children right after it's removed, and ParaGard- a hormone-free IUD contraceptive that basically blocks sperm from reaching your egg and prevents a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus for up to 10 years.

I like the sound of ParaGard but you can't take it out for 2 years (I think?) and there are little strings that "hang out". I'm worried about the strings during intercourse, and also worried that I can't take it out for two years if I don't like it or if it's uncomfortable.

Implanon sounds okay, except I'm not too keen about staying on a hormone based contraceptive because of the possible weight gain and the possibility of the nurse putting it in wrong (bitch is ghetto)

why is being a female so much work >:T

I gained a lot on Depo, I was on it for about 5 years. Hair loss and weight gain. Ugh.

I haven't experienced the hair loss, but I can image that would be frustrating D:
My mood swings, weight gain, and fatigue are what makes me want to get off of Depo. Tomorrow is when I'm supposed to get my next dose but I'm going to opt to see what other options I have.

I'm on LoLoesterine Fe and I love it. I pretty much don't get a period unless I miss a pill.
Unfortunately it doesn't do much for pregnancy prevention, but it does wonders for PMDD type bullshit.
