The guild has been on a long win streak despite all predictions beforehand. You're better off going with the guild now, get the boons, and waiting for the guild to pick Seekers in another rotation. They shuffle through each fraction on a consistent basis.

Long story short, there was a site event years ago where the 6 various factions battled it out for an obelisk. Now, it's on a two week cycle. In week one, sign-ups are from a Monday-Wednesday, with the battledome challengers appearing in your list Thursday-Sunday for you to fight. Then you can visit the Obelisk page the following Monday to select your boon if your team won, or you'll receive a consolation prize.
