It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

Apparently in Canada, we get summer for two-ish weeks and then it’s straight into fall? It has rained every single day for nearly two weeks and it has barely gotten above 15°C.

What happened to summer?!?! I want to enjoy SUNSHINE, not rain. It’s giving Vancouver vibes out here in my yard. It’s all wet and icky.

Do it!! It's so fun! Just a simple stroll can still be so nice and calming and cathartic. I'd be jump scared every two seconds if I went out tonight, so later in the week is probably best. ^^

PS: please eat an extra bite of those popsicles for me. They sound absolutely amazing. I thought about searching for something similar at the store but my stomach has been yeeting a bit from too much ice cream, so I need to chill (whoops) for a few days on the dairy.

I'm gonna do it for sure! Plus I'm gonna be visiting my parents soon and it's gonna be gross and hot there, but they've got a nice big yard and stuff!

And for when I'm back in Seattle I've been gathering intel on some easy-to-get-to nice day-hikes that are good for people trying to bounce back from illness/injury. I'm determined to be an Outside Bitch again.

It will make you want summer back right away, trust me LOL.

I just want there to not be mosquitos everywhere. This rain has made their population go craZY and I hate it. I am not a bugs person.

10/10 would rather bake dessert than cook or otherwise make healthy dinner, but 11/10 would rather not have to prepare anything. That said, I love food, and my stomach and guts rightly insist on real food.

Thankfully I wasn't that bad at making the most simple dinner possible. 😆I'm also sure I add way too much pasta for the amount of water I'm using but if I use a bigger pot I can't lift it to the sink with my bendy wrists, soo I'm sure that doesn't help my cooking time either.

Nothing like a big bowl of yummy carbs!

Oh, yes! I wanted to point that out as well! It looks so nice out there! I'd love to be able to go out there and just take in the rain and cool air.
Plus, the rain makes it looks so soothing lol...is that weird? I think it might be lol I just really love the rain!

I love rain and cool weather. My favorite weather type is rainstorms. It's soo soothing and makes me want to sleep all day. Especially in the winter, we can have the fireplace on and just toast by the fire.

And the thing is, there is SO MUCH MUD right now because SOMEONE *cough* Poot *cough* was digging in the dirt and made big holes. So now they’re giant mud holes???

I love rain too! Thunderstorms at night are so relaxing to me, especially in summer when the rain comes and cools everything down without making it humid and gross.
