my take on the matta:
I've boughten 4 high end UC's in the last two months and moved them onto my main with no issues so far.
I am a human being, nothing human is alien to me.

Both times the pets were from "compromised" accounts. OG owner logs in, sees their pet gone, and makes a ticket, poof, pet gone from your account. The neomail TNT sends to you says all pets in the trading chain get reversed as well, but in my case the trading chain never got reversed, and Alice never explained why.
