It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

yes thankfully! and got a little sun kissed too so the skin is appreciative.
came here to say though that these popsicles look so yummy! was gonna ask flavour and scrolled down a bit to see. I have such a hard time eating popsicles like.. I see people bite into them and all I can think about is how much it hurts. the teeth, the brain. oh the teeth, so sensitive. were they delicious??



none wrong with some gaming, and can't argue with sleep. sounds like a good summer, lol! did you catch any nice mons?

I caught waaaaaaaaaaay more shiny galarian zigzagoons than I needed and now I have no idea what to do with them haha! And yeah, for me summer is the season of sleeping after spending the spring/fall semester drowned in assignments.

I always play more PoGo during the summer months as well. It's much easier to play when you can get out of the car and not be walking through snow.

This definitely!! I remember when Pogo came out I recently moved out and has most summer free. It was a great experience, my husband and I would go to the biggest parks, would explore the city, we could have fun while disregarding our adults responsabilities? lol

It was great for making friends too. Sadly then adult life came back so we had to spoof. But the walking/meeting experience was awesome!

I cannot imagine playing in the middle of a snowy winter though

@(you need an account to see links) yesss!! This was my experience as well. That first summer playing pokemon go was MAGICAL. It seemed like everyone was out playing and I explored little monuments in my city I'd never seen before. But here it really tapered off in autumn and especially when it started snowing. I will play in my car with the heater running during events in the winter.

It was magical indeed!! One normally goes out on planned vacations but having a fun excuse to be going out often and meeting new ppl with same interests made it so cool.

Ofc the extreme heat is a downside lol

@(you need an account to see links) oh yes some ppl I remember catch Pokémon while driving, I also did it on the bus. I once saw a Ponyta and got down before designed destination and my husband was so mad at me!! And I didn't catch the damn Ponyta lmao

It's finally starting to return to just "sunny and manageable" instead of "sunny with a side of literally roasting". We got this nasty heat wave that came through for like 1.5 weeks or so, and it was so gross that I literally lied on my bed with the AC on, and could still feel myself sweating through it. Other than that, I like summer just because of the sunshine. Honestly not a big "go outside and bask" person, but I like to open the blinds and let the natural light come in.

There are two favourite ways to keep cool for me. One is chilled barley tea, it has a refreshing taste and is a natural diuretic as well. The other is cubed, iced watermelon slices. Cut up some watermelon into cubes, toss in a stainless metallic bowl with ice cubes. The ice keeps the watermelon refreshingly cold, and slowly, the juice from the watermelon slowly gathers in the bowl as the ice melts. It's like a natural watermelon drink that isn't processed and is still very refreshing.

Oh my gooosh summers during peak pogo were so fun. We used to drive to different parks to get at nests, and my dog definitely really enjoyed getting to wander around those new places!

It's been a nightmare trying to find someone to do some yardwork for us this summer. EVERYONE is booked until fall pretty much. I'd do it but my yard is full of snakes. They are harmless but I am still terrified lol
