It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

Artificial grape is like. A staple summer childhood flavour though! How can you not like it?!

Okay but Dimetapp is sooooo good. Way better than any other cough and cold syrups out there!

So this afternoon, a coworker bought Slurpees for everyone. She got random flavours, and I chose a blue one. I think it was sour blue raspberry lemonade maybe? It was super good! But part way through the meeting we were in, a coworker pointed out my mouth was blue - like my lips, tongue and teeth 😂😂
So after the meeting, I go back to my classroom and the kids kept asking, “Miss Cinna why is your mouth blue?!”

I must have been asked a dozen times LOL

Moral of the story: be careful with blue coloured Slurpees 😂😂

Also I am so sad I had to share with everyone, apparently choco tacos are being discontinued even though I don't eat them regularly that makes me so sad because I have fond memories associated with them. I really hope eventually it gets a dingdong (I know it's not a dingdong but the yellow tube things I cannot remember the name for the life of me right now) turnaround story in the future! (ah twinkie I just remembered lol)

Right?? I don't understand how it isn't a good seller. Waffle cones with ice cream is a GREAT combo and the idea to make it in taco form as opposed to the traditional cone... literally revolutionary and yes aha I did remember at the end of my post I kept thinking of kewpie which is mayonnaise 🤪

I thought I had wanted the hot summer heat but now I want it to go away ;___; our city has a bit of a heat wave right now and is not really equipped to handle it. We’re having some friends visit (their first time in this city) and I have no idea where to take them in this heat xD

You may want to start sightseeing early in the morning before the temperature hits its max. Just a thought, but it's generally cooler in the mornings and evenings, so you could plan activities around those times and spend the afternoon somewhere indoors. Though, wherever you go, make sure to take some @(you need an account to see links) with you! It's essential to stay hydrated in the hot summer.

We also just had a crazy hot heatwave here as well. It's thankfully passed and the weather has been nice and bearable but apparently another heatwave is on it's way in August ;u;b We're never ready for it either, but I suppose we're also not used to this level of heat ;u;
