It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

So, during the Summer season, does anyone have any games/MMOs that they do due to events going on?
I say this because Im playing TBC Classic and we're having a Mid Summer event going on. Which I find funny because we need to light up some fire...during summer...in this heat LOL

But there is a boss that basically ice and such. So at least we can cool off at some point

I say this because Im playing TBC Classic and we're having a Mid Summer event going on. Which I find funny because we need to light up some fire...during summer...in this heat LOL

Final Fantasy XIV hosts a really cute pair of events towards the end of August/beginning of September called Moonfire Faire and The Rising. The first one is usually pretty whacky, in recent years you had to do a special FATE or complete an obstacle course to get the prizes at the end which are usually something fun like a cute outfit or even a mount. And the second one is more for people who are super super into the story, but it makes me cry every single year remembering the game's story and how far it's come.

I seriously considered getting a Softweave SecretLab chair a while back for this reason of the fabric. I ended up going with a leather one for me and a Softweave material one for the wife. I must say though, whilst the Softweave is reasonably comfortable, I found it to be a bit too 'scratchy/irritating' on my skin. Also, cleaning the fabric is a PITA.

I have one of those SecretLab chairs. They’re amazing. When it’s cold, it feels warm. When it’s hot (aka now) it feels cool! Super comfy too. Worth every penny. Also congrats on the pink Popsicle! Seems that they are slowly popping up.

Not all gaming chairs are made of leather! Mine is cloth (but the downside is my cats use it as a scratching post)

There are gaming chairs that are made of cloth? I've never seen those before :o

Aw D: I don't have cats but I do have rabbits and they like chewing things, they've gotten to a lot of my cables (unplugged) that fell onto the floor and that's it haha.

wow I never knew SecretLab released a fabric version. That might be a go to for me!

I usually play Maplestory because they always have good summer events.

Oh shit, yeah nah. I know that pain too. Speaking of which, I really need to try and find some replacement ear cups for my HyperX Cloud Flights, the PU leather has started flaking badly now, I end up with black bits of material all over my ears and the sides of my head after an intense session.

i have a pair of audio technicas that i LOVE the sound quality of, but holy shit they love to slide around when it gets hot. sob.

OOOOO STICKING TO THE CHAIR. I have leather seats in my car. So getting in, on a hot day, wearing shorts is pure TORTURE. Feels like my dang thighs are gonna melt off. A huge downside to having a leather interior during summer.

Leather... ear pads sounds terrible as well??? Can you swamp them out during the summer for something more comfy?

ive been considering getting some cloth ear pads for them to swap them out!! but then cloth ones fucking smell. WHICH IS THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS

I don't play many MMO games except for Fall Guys LOL

BUT as a kid, I would game HARD on the Sims on the OG xbox. I would play the story mode over and over. I spent countless hours on that damn game. As a result, I found I binge play Sims more in the summer than any other time in the year!

Oh my! I love that you two brought this up! I actually play FFXIV! I sadly haven't played for about a month now because I cant keep up with two MMOs lol
I took a break from it due to me just being a solo player and got a little bored of it :x

But the Moonfire event is always so cute!
I remember the jump puzzles we use to have during it as well I LOVE the puzzles a ton!

Plus, getting to get some cute summer outfits is always a blast! The past few outfits (and emotes) that we got have been real nice.
