Lmao that’s gotta be exactly how the Petra arc went

I think that other stuff all makes sense. The news thing - do they typically post news about offsite ventures? I think of that as more of a cutesy kid-friendly update on site stuff (“it’s poogle day! here is the art gallery! new stuff in the mall!”) while the site events and official announcements forums, the editorial, and offsite social media are where they actually say real things. I may be wrong / there may be some offsite stuff that makes more sense to put in the news than others, but yeah I think it’s less news proper and more about what has been “going on in Neopia”

Maybe I'm easily appeased but I think this is the best possible response they could have made - especially considering that I don't believe they have the option of just washing their hands of the NFT partnership entirely.

I'm not sure I totally agree, JS could end the partnership if they really wanted to, it is their IP after all.

Please correct me if I'm reading this all incorrectly, but isn't this above statement contradicted by the following:

"Please know that our partner's social media accounts are managed independently and do not reflect the views of The Neopets Team (TNT) or JumpStart Games. To help ensure an experience that better aligns with our product's values, we will be assisting with management of these in the future."

"The Neopets Metaverse Discord has been the subject of much controversy on the site due to the content allowed on the channel by a third party. In the near future, JumpStart will be present and assisting with moderation."

Are these not resources that could be better devoted to fixing a basically broken website? Am I just not understanding or...?

Petra not being a CM anymore is hilarious.

Either:
- Petra took one look at the internal TNT dumpster fire and noped out of that role as fast as possible.
- OR Petra was voluntold to do these new projects and that was the end of that.

My money is on #2, seems like P picked the short straw for the fun "critical" tasks.

Not that much, they're refering different things in those lines, beign the first line about development (that they won't stop delevoping the site to work on NFT development) while the second is about media communication (as that they will be verifying how the partner comunicates with the public through their social media), i know TNT is not that big and probably the same people will be working on both, but they are ensuring that they're keeping the legacy site's course while this new project is being worked by a different team, and at the same time the legacy team will put an eye on how this new team talk to us.

I've been following this here and in NN, and gosh... Am i the only one that feels like the NFT community shown in screenshots speak as a lot of kids/boomers playing with money? They're so entitled to anything and not even my 14yo brother answers in such a stupid way as in the Discord and Twitter. Sure I'm mad at the NFT stuff but i think that it will die and fall under it's own weight and will be forgotten, or will completely developed out of neo; is this new community around these NFT what is making this insufferable, i mean, i don't want to feel or be related to these kids sayin stuff like "lolz i payd for this i can say whatevz i wantz to u"

I definitely see where you're coming from, but I still disagree to an extent. Labour is a resource, and labour can be allocated towards development rather than towards moderating media communications from a third party who in my humble opinion should have taken the time and effort to understand the territory they were entering. Their attitude alone shows we're nothing but dollar signs.

Dedicating those wages and time towards developers/producers or honestly ANYTHING that could benefit Neo would go a long way for the community. I of course understand it's a small team and not everyone can do everything, but all I ask for is... something...anything. We haven't had a real site event in so long, yet the team now have to spend additional time moderating grown adults to ensure they aren't complete douchebags? I also refuse to acknowledge this as a desperate need for money, because if they released pet slots/ucs as promised they would be raking it in right now as opposed to losing premium members daily. I have a lot of love for Neo, but for me personally it feels like a slap in the face and doesn't really cut it?

I literally never post and I really hope this doesn't come off argumentative. Venting is healthy right? :x

I think if they really saw us as dollar signs, they would at least treat us kindly. But even the most inexperienced salesperson guesses that being aggressive and unprofessional isn't going to generate many sales.

JS should have never tried anything like getting a second team for something, much less having the main team as their babysitters; it haven't worked even with bigger companies like Game Freak (Pokémon) and they want it to work with such a small team as TNT, we can't expect a good end :c We're not arguing, we're huging while crying

Honestly i think (and really want to believe) that all this NFT nonsense comes from JS and not directly from TNT's big boss, and that's why there's no connection nor communication between TNT and TMT, and that they really had a hard time getting accepted by any NFT provider that this joke of a company catched them just to shin up Neo's dead tree and try to get their name known after working with "big nostalgic neopets". OR, This new NFT company working since just September is a hidden part of JS and Neo is suffering the consequences because it's JS bigger name? (the conspiracy grows *insert dramatic music*)

If neo doesn't give us something really incredible in the next weeks i'm gonna implode and then explode and then implode again
