⭐⭐ New year Resolutions - What do you want to achieve in 2024? ⭐⭐

I really want to journal, because when I write things out (like write letters or emails that never get sent to vent feelings) I always feel better. But it feels like an emotional burden to kind of dredge everything up, so I never do it. I'm also paranoid of someone being able to read it. But then I don't want to do yet another thing digitally. Every year is the same lol. Maybe this year.

I also want to continue saying no more, I did that really well this year and it worked out great for me and my mental health.

Oh yeah gov't jobs take a while. Another way in that can be easier is looking into temp agencies. That's how I got my full time job when I started at a public university. My friend temp'd for a state gov't agency here in California and got hired. It's nice because you get to learn about how the work is and then if you apply for the open position, you're basically already an internal candidate.

Yeah, unfortunately there's a specific job I'm after :') I already have the very specific skills for it, actually through temping. Just gotta keep my fingers crossed.

In this year, my mum retired so I'm making it a point to travel more with her.

So far we'll be doing a total of 6-10 countries this year!
I'll also be doing 2 months in another country learning another language.

That also means I'll only be working roughly 4-6 months this year.

It might be a little tighter in money but at least it'll create more memories for a more meaningful life, hopefully!

After this Christmas, I realized a LOT has to change with my family relationships for 2024. I've always been focused on making them happy while I get disrespected constantly by certain members which has made my depression skyrocket, and I've been put on two different medications because of the stress this year.

I'm going to prioritize my own mental health, start to actually save financially, and see what I can do for getting my own living quarters for me and my cats.

This year has been.. a lot. My twin died late last year and then I got fired from my job shortly after. I've not had a real job for the entirety of this year. But I'm finally going to have one starting in January! So my goal for next year is to fuckin hold it together that year lmao

More than anything, I want to visit some overseas friends. I'm in a happy space right now with who I am, so all I want is to have a holiday and see the people I love most in the world. I would be happy to just accomplish that and nothing else.

I'm trying to set myself fun resolutions this year, ; wear a fancy outfit out for no reason, buy a book based on the cover alone, make a journal page and collect the stickers off of all the fruit I eat in the year, that kind of thing.

more than anything, i just want to get back into my art in 2024. ;; i miss doing commission work so much, but this year i lost a lot of my inspiration and motivation to create.
theres a couple other hobbies i'd really love to pick back up as well - i just miss being creative :')

I enrolled in our gym again this month with my husband, we haven't been there since Corona when it had to close.
Now we want to get fit again, time to shed those pandemic pounds.

I'm about to be in my 30s but I still have never gotten my driver's license. oops

I took the written test and got my permit but then the covid shutdown happened and I never got a chance to take the driver's test. Then I just kept putting it off.
tbh I'm afraid of driving so that's why I've always put it off

but I'm going to be having kids soon and I know I need to know how to drive and be legally able to

You can do it, I got my driver's license with the age of 32. And my mother did it the same year with the age of 54.
I think it can also be an advantage if you are a bit more mature and no longer youthfully impetuous.
