It's Summertime!

It's finally summer time!
(at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere!)



So, I want to know...

What is your favourite thing to do in the summer? Are you a total beach bum? Lake lifer? How do you like to stay cool? Popsicles, ice cream, good old fashioned AC?
Maybe you have a favourite memory from the summer time? I wanna hear about it!

I will go first!

As a kid, we would always go to the outdoor waterslide park in June at the end of the school year. We would stay all day until we were EXHAUSTED. There was this one slide that was super scary to me, it was really fast, had big drops and was in pitch black. I remember the year I turned 12, I was FINALLY brave enough to go down it by myself. So I did, and it was a blast! Once it was time to leave, we'd get a twist (chocolate and vanilla swirled) soft serve ice cream cone.

Catios are the BEST! Want one formy cats, in summer thay can take sun baths and on winter they can play with the snow!

Thanks! My other disabled girl has CH. 2 cats are FIP survivors. Seriously only one cat has never had anything wrong with her lol. I have a window that's on ground level BUT it's in the front of the house and would look really weird having a giant catio hanging out of it I think :p BUT this weather is so fabulous that it makes me want to do outdoor projects like build a catio or rebuild the porch

But to stay on topic I like to colour my hair bright during the summer months This year is blue andddd ive made a potential mess that may be permanent in the bathroom :')

I've had my hair purple for like 8 years. Rubbing alcohol, magic eraser, and make up remover are all pretty good at getting it out of surfaces. If it's in the tub/shower bleach based shower cleaner is also pretty effective. Since they're only semi perminant most of the stains will go away over time but if it's in the grout you'll want to get some bleach on it.

I woke up and caught up on this thread while drinking coffee and I feel like I lost track of all the things I wanted to reply to, so my thoughts are so scattered.
My popsicle flavors? Another question about Wawa? Yay more coconut recipes! My favorite banana bread is from a Nigella Lawson cookbook I've had since I was young. I like snakes but a rattler in the yard sounds scary! I've never tried a damp blanket while outside on a hot day, but sounds interesting. I fucking love colorful hair and mine is also blue right now. Yes omg, having a catio is the fucking dream! And probably much more but I'm gonna end up writing a novel if I go back and reply to things individually.

Oh also if you dye it again the best way to reduce splatter is to cover surfaces while you put it in with towels that are either dark or already in rough shape.

This is good advice and I will use this! I'll have to make sure to have nail polish remover at hand to get rid of the stains.

Snakes are danger noodles but also pest repellent so I love em. Black snakes take care of copperheads btw ;D Regarding snakes...I have a story about snakes and pests. I'll spoiler in case anyone gets the jeebies and it's a novel.

Yessss I need to get my catio dream realized. But my luck, they'd never use it XD they're spoiled, fat, indoor babs. The one girl can barely walk on the side of the bed without wobbling off (50/50 chance). So catwalks are probably not a safe bet for her lol

It's a really nice day out so we're gonna head for a walk to the beach and maybe stop at tim's to get some timbits and iced capps. no timbiebs bc those are kinda dry (imo, no hate.). hoping to get some cool pics of the water. it's hit and miss here with the colour. somedays it's a brilliant blue and others it's like, murky, have to walk through 3 ft of moss/seaweed before you're in the clear. wish us luck lol.

Its only going to be 85 today, so its its not to bad! But the heat gets trapped in my house and it just seems to be worse lol
I think it was last week that it was 96 for me so I had to turn my AC on SUPER early so the whole apartment didnt heat up to much!

Love Summertime projects!
Before the Covid we spent a summer building my still-incomplete house, it was so refreshing ♥ this summer want to build the catio for my furry balls!
It can attach to a second floor window too, i've seen floating catios before!
