I'm personally not bothered too much with the existence of a gacha system purely because I'm used to it.
One of my longtime favorite mobile games runs very heavily on gacha, but it makes it so that it's fairly easy to earn ingame premium currency and free gacha rolls that give high-quality content. I haven't dropped USD on Puzzle & Dragons in a long time simply because it's become so generous with currency and free rolls in the past few years.
But that brings me to my main gripe with Neocash & the fact that a lot of the cool stuff is gacha-only and often limited-time: the fact that it's only obtainable through real world currency transactions.
If there was a way to obtain NC and Mystery Capsules without actually paying anything, just with hard work or as a free thing every now and then to get people more interested in the content, then it'd be marginally better.
Other petsites have methods to obtain premium currency without paying a cent-- whether that's getting small amounts through on-site tasks or by trading "standard" currency to other players for premium currency. Neopets does neither of these things... and yet these other sites still get plenty of support through premium currency sales anyways, because the stuff you can do with that currency is desirable.
If Neocash wasn't so exclusive and walled-off, the whole Neocash Mall would be a lot more attractive.
But, I suppose, with Neopets in the state it is, they need to milk their audience for all they've got.
And that means making it so you absolutely have to pay real money for premium currency, no other options.
tnts need to put gambling in almost all the nc stuff is annoying, mostly because if you can't get something, having to trade with other users is even more annoying. I'm glad i'm not wanting anything hard to find these days.
