Legends and Letters: Crossover Week Active

So I am really unfamiliar with legends and letters. I'm trying to figure out the crossover challenges... I've got Self-Love (Day 1 - 3: Use a character's special ability to heal themselves 10 times.)


I've managed to somehow accomplish this 1 time out of 10 so far, yet I can't seem to make it happen again. I've tried autoplaying, ixi special attack, some other neopet special attack (healing).... I can't seem to figure out what actually counts and how to farm the 10 self heals needed............

Any pointers? I can't find much more than a definition of the challenge itself online. Thanks!

So when you're in a battle, you see how your characters have icons across the center of the screen, and a number (like 3, 2, 1, 0) in a small circle in the corner? Those character plates are what you use to trigger your unit's special attack. When the counter shows 0 and the background is flashing, that means you can use it. You can long press on the flashing card and it should show you what the unit's special ability is, certain ones have self-heal as the ability.

Also, for those who don't know:

For anyone struggling, you can literally have a maxed legendary team with enough time/determination, because the 1 legendary boosted draw (in the "whirlpool" section of the shop) doesn't cost anything. And you can buy infinite coins and ascension tablets for... nothing. So just spam the legendary draw until you are bursting with units, level up + ascend to your heart's content! And you should be able to easily breeze through the easy stages with a team of even a couple leveled up legendaries.

God, I know jack shit about leveling up and abilities and shit with this game. I just treat it like scrabble solitaire and then fights happen.

No prob - I'm figuring the game out as I go along too but if you're confused about anything else I'll try to find the answer!

@(you need an account to see links) I believe the leveling system is fairly simple with two tiers - level and star rarity. Basically to level up the unit (ex. a 1 star unit goes up to level 10) you feed it other units for exp (feeding a higher level unit gives more exp than a lower level one) and once it's max level for that star rarity, you have the option to 'ascend' it to the next star rarity. 1 star to 2 star requires the unit to be level 10 and fed one random 1 star unit, one attribute-specific 1 star unit, and 0 ascension tablets. (Plus some gold I'm pretty sure) After ascending, the unit becomes a level 1 two star unit. Hopefully that makes some sense... but honestly just feed crappy units to your strongest ones and they'll become buff enough to brute force through easy levels. xD

Unit management becomes a major pain the higher star rarity you get, because you'll need higher star rarity units as ascension fodder, and man all the clicking and screens to build what you need to do so is just really tedious.

This is pretty much it. You have 'standard' logic of water characters are better at beating fire characters, etc. What helps is knowing each species' and character's special ability, which can easily be found on their card.

And, just as in scrabble, big words make bigger damage!

Hello everyone! I've got a quick question for those who've done the "spam legends from shop" method - were you able to obtain Jazan?? Just curious because I've been at it for hours and I've got neither him nor Fyora. Didn't find confirming info anywhere online.

Not that it really matters I guess, since you can use someone else. Just want to know if its my luck.

Sorry, do you mean 40 or 50 other legendaries so far? Or that you obtained those two from some other means and you have 40-50 of them?

Where are you guys seeing Jazan and Fyora in the legendary pool? If you click the red "i" circle icon by the summon tokens in the shop, you should see the rates for the units you can get on each pull, and I don't see either of them. :o (screenshot below)
