The past couple days have been long and exhausting, but my dad just said I hadn't talked about my code advent calendar lately and asked if I was still doing it, so...oops, external pressure to catch up!

[edit] Also omg, damn near had a heart attack. I was at first completing this on two different accounts, but stopped after the first week-ish. I accidentally just checked the wrong account and I was like "I knew I was behind, but didn't think I was that behind". phew

yeah, i know how it feels! i've been running on 3hrs of sleep per day this couple of weeks. cant get in the right state of mind to start AoC. but hey, just wanted to let you know that you have a really cool dad who even knows about AoC! i think mine doesnt know what i do (specifically) for a living. lmao!

Yeah, I told my parents about it because I kept squirrelling away to be like "nooooo I'm coding" with a different flavor of fervor than usual. And they were very "we knew you were a nerd, but this is a new level".

Today part 1 was really fun to parse and code. And part was once again a familiar friend from an earlier day

I've been trying to catch up this week but I've been going at a pace of 3 stars per day (1.5 days in 1 day). These are hard, so my brain is tired after solving part 1 and 2 of the chosen day. After that, I only have enough juice leftover to solve part 1 of another day.

I've been selectively choosing the days I want to complete, so eventually only the problems I'm avoiding will be left and then I'll be going 1 or 0 stars per day.
For some of these, I'm able to solve part 2 with the given example but I'm unable to scale it for the puzzle input.

oooh, nice! I think halfway stars is a good goal and that's where I'm happy to have made it! Gonna try to do a few more here and there, I've had some starter code for day 17 open for what feels like a week, but maybe I should look at 18-21 and see if anything jumps at me as something I'd like to try.

I'm so impressed both you and @(you need an account to see links) have been keeping up with it! I'll probably try to go back and do a few more after holiday stuff has quieted down, but haven't had enough consecutive minutes to really dive into something like them.
