I'm pretty sure if you lose your Ryu you have to re-unlock scenes/pains.

There shouldn't be any situation that causes your Ryugotchi to lose its collections. I've accidentally nuked the game once in the past, and the code that restores a Ryugotchi when it was automatically revoked had a glitch that failed to check if you had a Ryugotchi previously and overwrote it with a new one, but both problems have been corrected.
