I am also a glasses wearer with similar needs, and these are the headphones I used FOR YEARS that never gave me any issues:

Also worth noting that they're somewhat of a golden standard in e-sports and you'll often see entire teams geared up with them, so the audio & mic quality is also excellent for gaming. There are other headsets in their lineup, including wireless ones, but these are the specific model I can vouch for that won't be a problem. Also, it comes with interchangable leatherette & velour earcups, so you can use whichever one is more comfortable. I liked the leatherette ones just fine and they were better for noise cancellation imo.

I have the HyperX Clouds above and it's always been a heavily recommeneded headset.
As someone who wears glasses though, depending on how long your sessions are, the dreaded side of the head pain is inevitable I think, I've been through a few headsets in my time.

If it's not too late, I currently use wireless Corsair Virtuoso with my PC & PS5. If he strictly plays on a Xbox console, Corsair makes other compatible options for Xbox. Other great brands to look into are Astro Gaming & ASUS ROG.
