To break this tie you will both battle it out Pokémon Showdown Style!!!

To keep with the Starter Pokémon theme you will both create a team of starting Pokémon and only using moves that are available under level 25!

Ayyyy! @(you need an account to see links) you're going to kick my ASS lol, but lets do it! Let me know if you prefer 2/3 or one and done. I've never used Showdown but my spouse is a little familiar with it so I'm going to read up on the guides and have him walk me through the actual... mechanics of the sim haha.

Ohh what a fun tie breaker! Also, @(you need an account to see links), I made a Pokemon guide and linked it in my siggy. It also breaksdown Pokemon Showdown and explains held items, EVs/IVs, ect. It's mostly for competitive battling, but I'm sure it'll still be useful here!

Yess, I saw it was your guide that's how I know you're going to wipe the floor with me I'm in class for a few more hours today, but I'll hit the books when I get home and start trying to formulate my team. I made a showdown account as harpyck in the meantime!

Just wanted to let you know that I don't think the normal Pokemon Showdown category we use may not work. Mostly because the pokemon we're choosing aren't legitimate for that category. While making my team, I selected the battle category [Gen 9] National Dex AG (Anything Goes). This way, we can choose any pokemon in the national pokedex and make them the desired level 25.

This is why I put a cap on the levels and moves to under level 25 move sets so like you can't have like charmander with fireblast lol so hoping to make it an even playing field that way

These moves can be taught to a pokemon no matter what level they are, and egg moves are moves pokemon hatch with. The website Pokemon DB houses a breakdown of each pokemon and what they can learn from said TMs. For example, if you're going to use Pikachu, here are additional moves you can use outside of the normal moves Pikachu learns at level 25:

Ahh, okay thank you for the heads up! I was building thinking the lvl 25 cap meant no TMs, that adds quite a bit. I'll make sure to rework!

Thank you! And sorry, not to be a pain I'm just looking over TMs and want to clarify before I rehaul my team:

I see Fireblast under TMs, and I interpreted the level cap as limiting moves quite a bit. So are there some that are off limits?
