What are you most proud of yourself for achieveing this year?

I got one! Its actually one that happened today!

I was able to get NEW GLASSES! After 13-15 years lol
Thanks to the help of some wonderful people here, I was able to get them.

Im so proud of them and so happy to finally get a new pair.
My old ones broke, so I was so worried what would happen lol

Honestly? Just simply surviving. It wasn't an easy year, especially at the start. And I'm still trying to figure out how to move forward (mostly) alone, but I'm getting there.

It does look like this next year will be a lot easier, though.

This is the year I started content creation, and I've been able to accomplish so, so much in such a short span that I never thought I'd be able to accomplish. It's been an incredible journey!

My wife and I decided late last year to sell our current house and build a new one (which, in this current climate in terms of interest rates and potential impending recessions etc wasn't, in my opinion, the best idea). We engaged with a real estate agent back in November 2022 and promptly sold the house within a few weeks for WAY more than what I personally thought it was worth at the time. YAY.

Fast forward to January 2023, we had managed (not easily I might add) to find a rental to move into by the time our settlement went through on the sale AND we had found the perfect area/block of land just 5 minutes from where we used to live. Got hold of the builder of the estate and started the process of designing our dream (forever) home with them.

It's now March 2023 and the pre construction period has taken a lot longer than it should have due to clerical/administrative errors on the builders' behalf, but we finally made it to construction stage and the build commenced in July 2023. Slab was poured in August 2023 and we are now very close to lock up stage with brickwork due to start any day now. All internal linings have been installed (gyprock/plasterboard, insulation and plaster flushing) and soon enough we will be able to get a pretty good idea of the overall finish to the façade that we chose all those months ago. So proud of our decision and the sacrifices we have made to get to this point in our lives together. This will be our third (and hopefully last) time building a house and we are (so far) loving every moment of the journey <3

It's so amazing to see so many people working towards something they're passionate about as well as those that may have been (or are still) struggling trying to turn things around for the better. You guys rock and keep smashing those goals for the betterment of your lives and those around you.

It's not a huge external thing, but I'm very proud of myself for finally being happier. I struggled with depression for years, but this year I finally found my place - in the most metaphoric way possible - I'm still living in the same house and I didn't undergo any physical changes. But I just feel better with myself, with how I spend my time everyday, with how I use the money I earn from my hard work.
I've been abroad 3 times this years, and I'm so proud of myself for letting myself have these treats since the things I go to see/events I attend are so important to me. I'm not quick to spend money so I'm proud of myself for being able to spend on me without feeling guilty about it anymore.
There are still some things I want to achieve (mainly relocated to another country), and I look forward to working towards it next year



Also I have to add it was so wholesome reading everyone's comments. Big and small achievements alike, I'm proud of you all, and I hope 2024 will be a great year for everyone here <3

i'm really proud of the mental growth i've made this year. i spent a lot of time lamenting lost time and lost opportunities - wishing that i had a more extravagant life than the one i have - but ended the year being more capable than ever to find joy in my lowkey everyday life, from the people who are actually around me. in other words, i overcame my (you need an account to see links)
