[Mobile] Neopets Faerie's Hope

I’ve played it a little bit - so far, so good! I’m actually impressed with this game and I think it’s pretty cute!

I played the game for a little bit. It very strongly gives off the vibes of adults are not the target audience lmao. Too much handholding through tutorials for my liking, and the cutesy noises and voice acting were grinding my nerves. I haven't paid attention to the story at all. Ultimately I'm hoping there's a way to link to our on-site accounts for neopoint rewards, otherwise I don't see myself keeping this game for the long haul.

I turned the sound off almost immediately after I started the game, it was a bit too much lol. The mechanics for a lot of the later levels are really typical of power up-dependent match 3s like candy crush so a part of me thinks it might still hit it with older people on Facebook at least, mostly biased because my mom is... A very fervent f2p player of games like this, to say the least.

Overall I don't think this would be a good long term thing based on Neos history with their past couple games, but nonetheless it would be nice to reward players that are also invested in the site somewhat. There's questionnaires that come up further in the game so including that in the feedback might have them consider if they aren't already intending to do so

One thing that I think might be an interesting tie-in, which I really don't think they'll actually do, is maybe a re-building faerieland plot?
I honestly hate that faerieland is on the ground, and this game gives me the teensiest bit of hope that they may be looking at doing something in the sky again?


Also @(you need an account to see links) I completely agree that the later levels are very power-up heavy, I've been getting a little annoyed at that aspect. I find it's not very hard to get powerups, but there's definitely a few levels you just can't beat without them and it gets a little frustrating.
My mom used to be obsessed with like candy crush/farmville, so I definitely relate (and feel like I'm becoming her - rip)

I've somehow made it a bit past lvl 100 and honestly have little to no strategy other than prioritizing making power-ups whenever possible and then letting them finish the level for me lmfao. if you have a win streak bonus, it really helps and if you don't have a bonus, it's likely you have boosters you earned previously that you can choose prior to the level because the game is very generous with them. it takes quite some time to meet another neopet to use as an assist, but given how quickly some of the levels go, i can overlook that.

comparatively, i found candy crush to be power-up reliant to a point where it stifles a lot of progress. i hope they don't tweak the rng or whatever in this game because i don't want it to end up like that lol

If there are in-game tie-ins that would definitely motivate me to keep playing. They sent a feedback survey out where based on the responses they are primarily targeting non-players, so I'm not sure how much they'll prioritize that sort of thing.

The art for the game is actually very cute, and I really enjoy it. I wish the actual game icons were Neopets themed! I actually rather enjoy the music and sounds for the game.


I agree with others here... I wish it would tie in to rebuilding Faerieland on the site, too.

I bet the feaeries game isn't conected with neo accounts because it's still a beta, let's hope they change it when it officially launches!
