My mom was the one helping me sign up for the magazines when I was like 8. When I picked it back up in highschool, she told me it was cute that I was playing again. My family doesn't usually give gifts without occasion but I remember being in the most awful mood one day after school and she slid me a NC card. My mom's a total G.

I knew two girls in HS who played. They talked about it openly with each other during guard practice and they kinda dragged me back into Neo. Today, all of my friends know and they're completely chill about it. Some of them even made accounts and play currently ;v;

i'll join the minority on this one and say i'm embarrassed as hell to admit im playing it. having to publicly post on facebook when my account was stolen just about killed me lmao. the friends who i have told about it usually have a "you uhh play a kids' website? ooookay..." kind of reaction. not 100% against it but still a little judgy LOL can't blame them tbh, especially since i don't really make money off of it or whatever.

Zero issues letting anyone know I play. There are worse things I could be doing with my time besides running a bot for Neopets lol.

My close friends and family know that I play Neo. Unless I know the person very well I wont go around telling accquaintances about it. Its something to feel embarrass about tbh. Nowadays most kids play playstation, xbox or Steam games. Neo is a laughable game to ppl imo.

You have to realize that everything is laughable to someone. Console gamers laugh at PC gamers. PC gamers laugh at console gamers. I laugh at people who waste their life away with WoW. People laugh at me for being such a Nintendo nerd.

EVERYONE will laugh at everyone else for something. It's how human nature works! It's understandable that you'd be embarrassed talking about it...because it's you!

However, just know that you shouldn't be embarrassed about being in the minority of something. That just means that there's more for us who like to sit back and relax!

It really depends on the genre of the game. Such topic like this will not exist if Neo is once a cool game like it was. I believe no one will ask the same question about WoW because of it's popularity.

That's why I still play myself. I do cheat (obv. i'm here duh) on some things, but I'm still able to enjoy the site itself without too much fear.

It's been a part of my life for a long-ass time. Helps me remember the good 'ol days.

The only negative feedback I've gotten when I tell people I enjoy Neo still are the people who are twice my age (i.e. my coworkers, parents) who call it a kids site. And I remind my coworkers I'm my age doing their job and doing it well, what does it matter what I like to do in my free time?
My parents will always bust my balls about being a giant child, however. Which I'm cool with.
