Oh my god I had no idea this thread existed either. Truly one of the greatest games ever imo.
Druid is definitely my go-to and I love it so much, but I think i'm going for a monk run next dark urge is also on my list and I would love to do a session with some friends, but it's so hard to get everyone together

I hope a lot of people are getting it as a christmas gift so that even more can enjoy this fantastic game!

Im still in act one and have done most of the area! I still got some ways to go before I finish lol
I love D&D and how the game plays!

I do my best to keep everything as it is, as I want to keep all my positive and negative outcomes.
I missed out on about 4 companions, but thats okay! The game is meant to enjoy it anyway you play

Im so excited for act 2 when I get there!

I'm thinking of getting this tomorrow - as a massive fan of RPGs and soulslikes but a complete noob to DnD, will I enjoy it? The only thing I have reservations about really is the combat!

I'm not really a gamer, not a tabletop player, know nothing about D&d and not a fan of combat.... and I love this game.

There are levels of difficulty and I'm playing the easiest because I want to focus on the story, not the combat. Just wandering around and doing little quests as I find them meant I leveled up ahead of the game and can sail through most fights right now. But the plot and the characters in my party are why I'm here. The world is outrageously detailed (talk to everyone, even the cows) and so vivid and alive. It's such an immersive experience.

I'm playing as an elf bard, which is a pretty easy pick and good fun to play. I think I'll try dark urge next!

Im a D&D nerd and use to play it with my brothers and friends back in the day.
BG3 feels like Im back at the table with them and having a blast!

I am playing solo atm, but I want to get my two brothers to play a game with me at some point.
Its such a beautiful and wonderful game!

I LOVE LoZ and LOVED BotW, but I 10000% agree that BG3 deserves Game of the Year. Its fantastic!

I've decided to play as Lae'zel, I wasn't even remotely interested in her at the start of my first playthrough but after playing through the entire game once.. she's by far the most interesting character!

also when she yells at me I get weak in the knees :x

Thank you soooo much everyone who took the time to recommend me this game!! I've never plated DnD or been into turn-based combat but I've been playing BG3 for about a week now and I'm having an absolute blast. The roleplaying, voice acting, characterisation and plot are just phenomenal - definitely one of the best games I've ever played, in my top 5 for sure. I've been off work recovering from a major health issue and it's been filling my otherwise long and boring days brilliantly. I love it!

(I'm only just getting to act 2 and 55 hours in... being an obsessive completionist and explorer. I'm gonna be busy a while xD)

If anyone is looking for another game like BG3 to scratch that itch, I recommend trying Divinity: Original Sin 2 as well. It was also made by Larian studios some years back and I'm in the same predicament as Parrot haha. Just reached Act 3 and have over 70 hours of playtime.

Ooh I got both Divinity games during Steam's winter sale! They were 80% off or something. I'll be playing them soon, I absolutely loved BG3
